Paula has one of our most favorite voices, and creating her tabs was a labor of love for us here at Abatab. A native of Israel, Paula has become a well-known and loved member of the New York City scene, cultivating a loyal following and playing in some of the most venerable venues around town. But she has also garnered rave reviews around the world, recently having enormous success back home, as her bio explains:
Paula, who now calls NY City her home, was a participant last summer in the highest rated television program in Israel, a sort of American Idol reality show, whose name translates to, “A Star Is Born.” At the moment, Paula Valstein cannot walk on the street of her native Tel-Aviv without getting noticed. Paula clinched Best Performance honors and it’s made her a household name all over that country. While Paula was performing on television her songwriting in the US was grabbing attention winning an award at the International Songwriting Competition.
If you haven’t heard Paula, you can stream her songs in their entirety over at Reverbnation. And we’re excited to say the only place you’ll find her piano/guitar tabs is right here on our site. Many thanks to Paula for all her help in making it happen!
We’ve just launched our Abatab Holiday Sale, and to make it extra special we’re introducing Bess Rogers’ new tabs, priced right for the holidays. Plus, purchase her songbook and we’ll send you a special acoustic mp3 of her new song “Anchor”. Happy Holidays!
We’re thrilled to announce that we now offer individual tabs and a complete songbook for William Fitzsimmons’ 2011 album, Gold in the Shadow. You’ll find them all at abatab.com/williamfitzsimmons. One of our favorites from the album:
We’ve just added tabs for the great indie trio, The Spring Standards. We love their vocal harmonies, great songs and cool guitar parts, and you’ll find brand-new tabs on their Abatab page. We couldn’t be happier to have them aboard! Here’s one of our favorite songs:
Spring has sprung here in New York City! And we’d like you to know how excited we are to now offer official Lelia Broussard guitar tabs, which you’ll find posted on her page. As a side note, right now Lelia is among the top 4 artists vying for the cover of Rolling Stone Magazine. Sweet. We’re voting and hope you will, too!
And just today we added The Spring Standards to our roster. We’re loving their EP “No One Will Know” (iTunes) and will be posting tabs in a month or so. Stay tuned at Facebook and Twitter.
We’re working hard to build Abatab’s roster with the best indie artists around; thanks for joining us for the ride! Now it’s time to head out for some sun…

We’re thrilled to offer you guitar tabs from Bess Rogers brand-new EP, “Bess Rogers Presents Bess Rogers”, just released Sept 21st. You’ll find them on Bess’ page and we hope you enjoy!
If you haven’t heard the EP yet, you can stream it on Bess’ store and purchase on iTunes. It’s a great collection of songs. And you can catch Bess on the Quest for Glory tour with Allison Weiss and Lelia Broussard – there are still a few more dates left!
When we first got in touch with New York-based singer/songwriter Martin Rivas, there was a bat flying around in his basement – seriously. He then informed us that while this is not an ideal situation, he actually doesn’t mind the occasional bat (outside, of course) because they eat the mosquitos. You know what? Mosquitos deserve to be eaten, what with all the biting. So that made total sense to us, and we liked him from the get-go. But we liked his music first…
So our free tab this month is Martin’s beautiful “Behind Their Thumb”. It appears on his new “The Convalescence EP”, which, on a serious note, he recorded by himself in his home studio during the four months he spent recovering from surgery and its resulting life-threatening complications. You might expect a dark collection of songs, but Martin’s EP is just the opposite – uplifting and full of wide open spaces…
Like all of our free artists, Martin has graciously agreed to include his MP3 with our tab. Sweet. You’ll find it all on our Free page…
Coming in October is an artist we discovered on (*cough*) MySpace of all places… But till then, enjoy Martin Rivas. Find out more about him here, and a little about our suddenly not-so-scary new friendhere…
Bess Rogers’ new EP, “Bess Rogers Presents Bess Rogers”, is awesome from start to finish. And we’re happily working on the tabs, which we’ll be posting on September 7th – which just happens to be the EP release date!
Here’s one of many great reviews rolling in. And through September 3rd, Bess is offering goodies for pre-ordering from her store. Check it out, you know you like free stuff!
